DAN-WOOD

HOUSES

BY CHARLIE HENRY

Project Objective: The incredible opportunity to design a new concept for a turn-key home, inspired by the sleek and modern Scandinavian design aesthetic, with a focus on eco-friendliness. Putting the heart and soul into this project, starting from scratch with an idea and bringing it to life through 3D modeling, material testing, render visualization, and collaboration with architects.

It was essential, to ensure that the architecture did not overpower the natural beauty of the location. I carefully studied the landscape to find the perfect balance, choosing materials and construction techniques that would fit harmoniously with the surrounding environment.

Tasked with creating a space that not only complemented the natural surroundings but also seamlessly integrated with the landscape without appearing ostentatious. Throughout the entire design process, I was passionate about incorporating sustainable materials and energy-efficient solutions into the construction of the home. With careful consideration given to every detail, from the layout and functionality of the living spaces to the exterior design, I aimed to create a home that was both visually stunning and environmentally responsible.

I strongly believe that architecture should always be in harmony with nature, and not the other way around. It was my priority to create a design that seamlessly fit into the majestic location without disturbing or ruining the natural environment. In today's world, we must remember that it is architecture that should be adaptable to nature and not the opposite way.

Drawing inspiration from Scandinavian design principles, the interior was designed to be minimalistic and uncluttered, with clean lines and a neutral color palette. The use of natural materials, such as recycled wood, helped to create a sense of warmth.

Designed to be compact but highly functional, with all the necessary amenities and features to create a comfortable and convenient space. Despite its small size, the bathroom was carefully planned to make the most of the available space and provide an efficient layout.

The windows played an important role in both the functionality and aesthetic of the home. Large windows and sliding glass doors were used throughout the home to provide stunning views of the surrounding landscape and to allow natural light to flood the interior. Double-layer windows, also known as double-pane windows, are a great option for homes in very cold weather.

Designed with a neutral colours palette and simple, modern finishes to create a timeless and elegant look. The use of high-quality materials and finishes ensures that the bathroom will be both durable and stylish for years to come, while the efficient layout and practical features make it a highly functional space despite its small size.

Pretended to be a testament to the beauty and power of architecture that truly integrates with its natural surroundings. The Scandinavian-inspired design, with its clean lines and minimalist aesthetic, serves as a harmonious complement to the rugged and majestic landscape of the Norwegian mountains. The double-layered windows, designed for even the coldest weather, allow natural light to flood the space and provide unobstructed views of the awe-inspiring scenery outside.
