NORWEGIAN FLY-ON PROJECT

BY CHARLIE HENRY

Project Objective: Being entrusted with the task of designing a new mobile app for Norwegian Airlines was a thrilling opportunity. The goal was to create an intuitive and user-friendly interface that would streamline the passenger experience from start to finish, providing a complete travel guide and assistance along the way.

Embarking on a journey to revolutionize the air travel experience by creating a mobile app that integrates cutting-edge technologies such as augmented reality (AR) and artificial intelligence (AI). Our goal is to break the traditional norms and barriers of air travel and provide passengers with a seamless and personalized experience from start to finish.

Create an app that was not just a platform for purchasing airline tickets, but a comprehensive travel tool that would help passengers navigate every aspect of their journey. I poured my creativity and expertise into every step of the design process, from sketching out initial concepts to testing and refining the user interface. The result is an app that seamless style with functionality, making travel more enjoyable and less overwhelming for passengers.

AI Assisted

AI can suggest alternative flight options in the event of a delay or cancellation, based on the passenger's preferences and travel history. The AI can also provide real-time updates on flight status, gate changes, and baggage claim information.

AR Accessibility

In the case of the Norwegian Airlines app, AR is used to enhance the passenger's travel experience. For example, when passenger arrives at the airport, they can use their smartphone camera to scan their surroundings, and the app will display information about their location and directions to their gate. The app can also provide information about the passenger's flight, such as departure time and gate number, as well as any delays or cancellations.

Experiences.

The booking experience with Norwegian Airlines is designed to be easy and hassle-free. Users can quickly search for and select their desired flights using the app's intuitive interface. The app provides clear and detailed information about flight options, including departure and arrival times, layovers, and pricing.

The colour scheme for the Norwegian Airlines app is predominantly red and white, which are the company's signature colours. The use of red evokes a sense of energy and excitement, while the white creates a clean and modern look. These colours are strategically used throughout the app's interface to create a cohesive and visually appealing design. The red colour is also used to draw attention to important elements such as buttons and notifications, while the white space helps to create a sense of balance and simplicity.

AR Technology.

With the use of AR technology, the app allows passengers to explore and navigate the airport with ease. Passengers can use their smartphones to scan the airport environment and receive real-time information about their surroundings, such as where to find their gate or nearest restaurants and shops. The app also provides helpful visual cues and directions, making it easy for passengers to find their way around the airport.

AI Technology.

AI can suggest alternative flight options in the event of a delay or cancellation, based on the passenger's preferences and travel history. The AI can also provide real-time updates on flight status, gate changes, and baggage claim information. Overall, the AI technology in the Norwegian Airlines app adds an extra layer of convenience and personalization to the passenger experience.

Designed

The Norwegian Air Shuttle app is designed to be a one-stop-shop for all of the passenger's travel needs. From booking flights to managing reservations, checking flight status, and accessing boarding passes, the app provides a seamless experience for the user. In addition to these standard features, the app also includes several innovative and cutting-edge technologies such as augmented reality (AR) and artificial intelligence (AI).
